Napoli rout Cagliari for 10th straight win in Serie A

Leaders Napoli sent their Serie A winning streak into double figures with an emphatic 5-0 success at Cagliari.

Maurizio Sarri's side registered a 10th successive league win thanks to first-half goals from Jose Callejon and Dries Mertens and efforts after the break from Marek Hamsik, Lorenzo Insigne and Mario Rui.

Victory moves Napoli four points clear of second-placed Juventus, who have played a game less.

The visitors had been on top but they had to wait until the 29th minute to go in front as Callejon beautifully swept home into the bottom corner for his ninth goal of the season.

The game was effectively over as a content three minutes before the break when Mertens continued his hot streak by pouncing at the near post for his seventh goal in the last nine games in all competitions.

Napoli improved their goal difference further on the hour when Hamsik plundered home in style from the edge of the area.

Insigne added another from the penalty spot before Rui completed the rout with a fine free kick with the last kick of the game.
