Mauricio Pereyra scored the go-ahead goal in the 69th minute, and Orlando City SC held on for a 2-1 win over visiting Inter Miami CF in the latest installment of the Florida Derby on Saturday night. Four minutes after former Orlando defender Brek Shea leveled the match for expansion Miami, the hosts took the lead for good. Inter, which also lost to City at the MLS is Back Tournament, was 1-0-2 in its previous three matches. Orlando star Nani had the first golden opportunity of the match in the 11th minute. However, his free kick from just outside the top of the box hit the crossbar. It would not be long, though, that Orlando would be rewarded off another free kick. A consistent presence in the final third, Orlando came through via Pereyra's bender into the box off a set piece from the left sideline that glanced off Miami's Andre Reyes and by Robles for the own goal. However, the complexion of the match was much different in the second half as Miami, which held roughly 35 percent of possession in the first, was aggressive out of the gate. Inter's relentless early second-half pressure resulted in a successful Shea header to level the match in the 65th minute off a splendid Rodolfo Pizarro cross. The game would not stay tied long, though, as Pereyra put Orlando back ahead. It looked as if Miami would have a chance to equalize when a penalty was initially awarded to the visitors in the 71st minute, after Orlando's Rodrigo Schlegel was booked for his second yellow card of the night. However, that decision was voided when VAR determined Miami was offside prior to the infraction.
