Hassani Dotson scored a goal in the dying seconds as Minnesota United pulled out a 2-2 tie with host LAFC on Wednesday. With LAFC putting on defensive pressure late in the game, Dotson took a pass from Jan Gregus and scored from the top of the penalty area with a right-footed volley past goalkeeper Tomas Romero. The goal came in the fifth minute of second-half stoppage time. Carlos Vela and Tristan Blackmon scored goals for LAFC, while Romero made three saves. Loons goalkeeper Tyler Miller made three saves against his former club. He played for LAFC during the 2019 and 2018 seasons. Blackmon's first goal of the season came on a header in traffic in front of the Minnesota United goal on a 77th-minute corner kick from Eduard Atuesta. It was just the second MLS goal for the defender in four seasons and 55 games. Vela converted late in the 40th minute after LAFC midfielder Jose Cifuentes forced a turnover near midfield. Cifuentes' pass found Vela in stride up the center of the field, and he flipped the ball over Miller and into the back of the net with his right foot. With his fifth goal of the season, Vela tied for the team lead. Reynoso leveled the score in the 49th minute with a sliding left-footed goal past both defender Marco Farfan as well as Romero. It was Reynoso's second of the season and third in 27 career MLS games. Minnesota United defender Chase Gasper left the game in the 18th minute with a leg injury. Gasper had been the only Loons player to see action in every minute for the team this year.
