England struggled to gain any fluency in the first half, but they worked their way level just seven minutes after the restart as Callum Doyle converted from close range following a corner. Both sides continued to have chances but neither could find the breakthrough in the 90 minutes.

But Ian Foster's side showed their strength in fitness with a strong extra-time performance. Carney Chukwuemeka scored in the 108th minute and Aaron Ramsey furthered the young England side's lead eight minutes later to ensure their first U19 European Championship title since 2017.
