Stefan Effenberg: Mourinho is Special One; Klopp a Normal One; I'm New One

Stefan Effenberg has presented himself as "the new one" at his first official news conference as coach of 2. Bundesliga club Paderborn.

Effenberg, 47, was appointed to his first head coaching position at the struggling second division side on Tuesday, where he hopes to make a name for himself in his new career choice.

The first impressions were good when he met the media on Wednesday, and he kept them entertained.

"It's really me," were Effenberg's first words. "There's the Special One [Jose Mourinho], the Normal One [Jurgen Klopp], and now I am the New One."

Effenberg will be looking to turn around the East Westphalian club's fortunes and guide them back into the Bundesliga, but he insists he is not using them as a springboard for his own career.

"We've agreed on a contract until 2017 and there's no way out," the former Bayern Munich, Fiorentina and Wolfsburg midfielder said, adding that this applies even if a Bundesliga club were to come knocking.

"It is not even in the back of my mind to come here for six months and then leave for something new. I feel too good here for that. I'm sure you will very soon get to see what my handwriting looks like."

That handwriting will certainly be better than his typing skills, as Effenberg explained in another anecdote to the press.

"My assistant coach Soren Osterland is an expert on the laptop and that's why we're a perfect blend," he said. "You just can't type any quicker than he does. He typed up a lot for me when we were studying for our coaching badge together.

"I just read it out and he'd type it up. Don't get me wrong, I would have done it myself, only I would still be sitting there now if I did. It's an age thing."

Effenberg -- who won three Bundesliga titles and a Champions League during his playing career -- has also already endeared himself to the club's supporters with hundreds lined up to welcome him upon his arrival at the city's airport.

"They were all stood there with smiles on their faces to see that it really is me -- that was nice of them, really nice," Effenberg said of his arrival in a city he promises to make his home at least until the summer of 2017.

"My job here is to turn these lads into heroes. I'm delighted to be here. We've got a great deal of quality within the side, otherwise I wouldn't be here. I'm really looking forward to working here and now I'm focused on Friday's match.

"That is our biggest priority. I'm sure we'll get back to winning ways soon. I'm really motivated for what's coming my way over the coming weeks and months."

Paderborn are currently just a point above the relegation zone with only two wins and seven defeats from their first 10 games of the season.

On Friday, they host Eintracht Braunschweig, who are currently fourth, with all eyes on Effenberg's coaching debut at the Paderborn Arena.
