Clement Grenier has told Le Parisien he has not "closed the door" on extending his contract with Lyon. Grenier, 24, was tipped to leave for a major European club in summer 2013 after impressing at OL and making the France squad only to eventually extend his deal through to 2016. A problematic adductor injury and subsequent bacterial infection has meant he may play his first league game of the season in Lyon's league fixture with Bastia on Wednesday. However, that has not prevented OL president Jean-Michel Aulas admitting he would happily extend Grenier's deal, and the Lyon youth academy product remains open to offers from the club. Grenier said: "I know the president wants to extend my contract. As he knows, my priority is to play football again. It's my job, my passion, my life. I want to play again without pain, have a good end to the season before thinking about my future. "It's the president who decides. I don't close the door, I have never closed the door to the club where I have come through the youth academy. Contrary to what I hear sometimes, there is no problem, neither from my side or that of the club." Grenier was strongly linked to Arsenal two years ago when he had just a single season left on his contract before finally putting pen to paper on an extension. With money tight at the Stade de Gerland, Aulas has made a point of founding his team on youth academy talent and has been keen to tie down a number of home-grown players, such as captain Maxime Gonalons and Nabil Fekir, to long-term deals.
