Tiago Ilori unlikely to transfer to Sunderland as it is 'cold' - father

Liverpool's Tiago Ilori is not keen on a move to Sunderland because the city is too cold, according to the player's father.

Ilori, 22, signed for Liverpool from Sporting Lisbon in 2013 but he has yet to make an appearance for the club, instead being loaned to Granada and Bordeaux.

The Portugal under-21 international will, however, be given a chance to impress manager Brendan Rodgers during preseason.

His father, Kola, said in the Sunderland Echo: "We talked last week about the future of Tiago. They [Liverpool] say he will have a chance and go in the preseason tour of Thailand.

"There are other clubs interested, like Sunderland, but Sunderland is a cold city."
