Sevilla are not worried that Ukraine winger Yevhen Konoplyanka could back out of the agreement to join the club despite a suggestion he would rather join Barcelona.
Sevilla announced last week that Konoplyanka, whose Dnipro contract expires at the end of this month, had agreed to join the Europa League winners.
However, the transfer has yet to be officially confirmed and Sport quoted the 25-year-old's father, Oleg, as telling matchday.ua that his son's ultimate ambition is to play for Barcelona.
Even so, his father said that it was "too soon" for a move to the Camp Nou and Sevilla sporting director Monchi said he was not concerned that Konoplyanka would decide against completing the deal.
"If I was a Ukrainian player I could think the same thing -- to play at Barcelona -- as you report his father said," he told a news conference, reported on the club's official website.
"I'm not worried. I believe Sevilla FC is the best club in the world, but I can understand that there are people that don't think like that.
"His signing was a difficult negotiation [but] he will play at Sevilla and we are delighted. We have all given a lot for this negotiation to be completed. It was tough but we achieved it."
Monchi added: "I'm not worried that he is a Dnipro player until July 31. He is training and he is there with his family.
"In the meantime, we are working towards speeding up all the necessary documents to register him as a Sevilla FC player. It's not something that is weighing heavily on us."
Konoplyanka, who scored eight goals in 42 games for Dnipro last season, is set to sign a four-year deal with the Andalusian outfit.
Sevilla have had a busy summer in the transfer market, with Aleix Vidal joining Barca and Carlos Bacca heading to AC Milan.
Adil Rami and Sergio Escudero, meanwhile, have joined the club and they have also held talks with Borussia Dortmund over Italy striker Ciro Immobile.
Monchi said Sevilla are looking at several attacking options as potential replacements for Bacca.
"We are looking to strengthen our attack and we are considering several names," Monchi said. "We are looking to make an important signing because we have lost a player that scored 28 goals."
