Carpi forward Marco Borriello's agent says Major League Soccer is one of the options the former Italy international is assessing.
Borriello, 33, is surplus to requirements at the Serie A club after being left out of their squad for the recent fixture with Udinese and his agent Andrea D'Amico is reported to have already been in North America to hold talks with two franchises, said to be Toronto FC and Montreal Impact.
Upon returning to Italy, D'Amico told Sportitalia that MLS "is a possibility" for Borriello, while dismissing links with his former club Genoa.
"Marco has several different possibilities," he said. "He's a professional sportsman and has earned 7/10 ratings for several of his performances and he is still very hungry and can still achieve a lot yet.
"[As for Genoa], I rather talk about serious things rather than predictions. I only care about facts and as things stand, there are divergences. [MLS] is a possibility."
Bologna had also been touted as a possible destination for the forward, who has scored four goals in 12 Serie A matches this season to take his overall tally to 75 goals in Italy's top flight, including for AC Milan, Genoa, Roma and Juventus.
Borriello spent the second half of last season on loan at West Ham United, but managed only two appearances in the Premier League before securing a permanent move to Carpi in the summer.
