Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has "no problem" with Alex Teixeira's decision to turn his back on a dream move to the Premier League in favour of Chinese club Jiangsu Suning.
Teixeira claimed in an interview with the Shakhtar official website that proposals from a Premier League club "were somewhat windy and did not contain anything concrete," as he left the Ukrainian club.
The player previously said that Liverpool had a £32 million offer rejected by Shakhtar, with the Brazilian eventually joining Jiangsu for £38m.
Although Teixeira said he "wanted to stay in Europe and move to the English Premier League club," he instead became the latest high-profile player to move to China.
Klopp told his prematch news conference ahead of Saturday's visit of Sunderland: "A lot of people in Europe talk about the power of England because of the TV deal. Maybe now it's China.
"It's an individual decision. If you are 26 and get an offer like he did then everyone would think about it.
"I have no problem with this. I don't think it's a sign in general."
Teixeira joins former Chelsea midfielder Ramires at Jiangsu after he moved from Chelsea for €28m. Guangzhou Evergrande signed striker Jackson Martinez from Atletico Madrid for €42m, while Fredy Guarin and Gervinho have also moved to China.
