Havard Nordtveit a West Ham target, manager Slaven Bilic confirms

West Ham manager Slaven Bilic has said he is interested in signing Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Havard Nordtveit.

Norway international Nordtveit, who has been linked with a number of clubs, is out of contract in the summer.

German outlets Kicker and Bild suggested the 25-year-old, who was at Arsenal as a teenager, had agreed a deal to join the Hammers, challenging for a place in the Champions League next season.

But Bilic played down those reports and said: "Many clubs are interested in Nordtveit and monitoring the situation. We are also interested in him."

Earlier this week, Nordtveit confirmed he would leave Monchengladbach on a free transfer in the summer.

He has also been linked with a return to the Emirates Stadium as well as Tottenham, Liverpool and Borussia Dortmund.

"The decision to leave Gladbach has been incredibly difficult for me," he told Bild. "I love the club and the fans."
