Juventus to sign Domenico Berardi next summer - Sassuolo president

Sassuolo president Giorgio Squinzi says that the club's young star Domenico Berardi will not be joining Inter Milan because they already have an agreement for him to join Juventus in a year's time.

The 21-year-old is undergoing the usual preseason medical tests today after returning from his holidays yesterday.

Earlier this year, Berardi rejected a move to Juventus, but Inter's reported €25 million bid to Sassuolo, would guarantee him regular playing time as well as a five-year-contract worth €2.5 million per season.

Squinzi said: "I've heard a lot of rumours and read a lot of things. The truth is only one, though: Inter have made no real offer for our player. I don't understand why people claim otherwise.

"Berardi will stay at Sassuolo. We have an agreement with Juventus, but his transfer has simply been postponed by another year. The lad will go to Turin at the end of next season. I've even read of potential legal implications but this is not possible: There is nothing illegal in all this."

The under-21 international boasts an impressive record already, having scored 38 goals in three Serie A seasons with the Emilia Romagna club.
