Liverpool's Sergi Canos targeted by Championship sides - source

Liverpool have accepted two bids from Championship clubs for youngster Sergi Canos, a source close to the Premier League side has told ESPN FC.

Norwich City and Bristol City have been given permission to speak to the player with bids of £2.5 million being accepted by the Reds, according to the Liverpool Echo.

Canos had been in talks with Liverpool over a new contract but discussions broke down reportedly due to his £10,000-per-week wage demands.

After a successful spell out on loan at Brentford last season, the 19-year-old has to decide whether to see out the final year of his contract on Merseyside or continue his development in the second tier of English football.

Canos made his Liverpool first-team debut in the final game of the 2015-16 campaign when he appeared as a second-half substitute away at West Bromwich Albion.

He told the Liverpool Echo at the time: "I enjoyed that a lot. It was the best 10 minutes of my life.

"When people say dreams come true, they are right. Today one of my dreams came true."

The Spaniard joined the Reds in 2013 at the age of 16 from Barcelona.
