Real Madrid defender Diego Llorente joins Malaga on season-long loan

Malaga have signed Diego Llorente on a season-long loan from Real Madrid.

Llorente, 22, originally came through the academy at Real Madrid, before making his first-team debut coming on as substitute for Alvaro Arbeloa in the last game of the 2012-13 season against Osasuna.

However, he was loaned out and spent last season at Rayo Vallecano, where he made 33 appearances.

And Madrid have decided to loan him out again for another season to gain some more first team experience, with Malaga the destination this time.

Llorente was called up to the Spain national team by manager Vicente del Bosque for a friendly against Bosnia-Herzegovina in May but he didn't play in the match. He did go on to make his debut for the national side later in the month against Switzerland.
