Bas Dost interest growing but Wolfsburg uncertain on summer sale

Wolfsburg sporting executive Klaus Allofs has said the club will only consider selling Bas Dost if they presented with "good arguments" by an interested club.

Dost's future has been the subject of conjecture at Wolfsburg following Mario Gomez's return to Germany last week.

The Netherlands international's current contract at the Volkswagen Arena runs until 2017, and he has turned down the offer of an extension.

"There has been some movement in so far as that a few clubs have documented their interest," Allofs told kicker of the latest developments.

The football magazine also reported that Portuguese club Sporting have made an official offer for Dost, and two unnamed Premier League side are also interested.

"We have yet to make a decision if we sell Bas or not," Allofs said amid reports Wolfsburg are looking for €10 million for his signature.

Julian Draxler, meanwhile, will stay with the club this summer, Allofs has said.

Earlier this summer, the Germany international expressed his wish to leave Wolfsburg after only one season, but was told by the hierarchy that a transfer would not be sanctioned.

Despite interest from Paris Saint-Germain and Arsenal, Wolfsburg coach Dieter Hecking said Draxler's short-term future is with the 2015 DFB Pokal winners.

Hecking told kicker: "The situation has been solved. Julian plays for us."
