Liverpool sell midfielder Luis Alberto to Serie A side Lazio for £4.3m

Luis Alberto has completed his transfer to Italian side Lazio, Liverpool have confirmed.

The midfielder has joined the Serie A outfit for £4.3 million plus potential add-ons. ESPN FC reported on Monday that two clubs had agreed a fee and the deal includes a 30 percent sell-on clause.

Alberto travelled to Rome to discuss personal terms and underwent a medical on Wednesday.

A source told ESPN FC that Lazio's hierarchy were impressed with the 23-year-old's stint on loan at Spanish side Deportivo La Coruna last season, where he scored six goals and provided eight assists in 31 appearances.

Alberto made the move to Liverpool in summer of 2013 but failed to make a lasting impact during his time at Anfield -- only making 12 appearances for the club.

He returned to Liverpool in July after his spell in La Liga for preseason training but did not feature in any of the club's nine preseason friendlies.
