Hebei China Fortune loan Gael Kakuta to Deportivo La Coruna

Deportivo La Coruna have announced that former Chelsea winger Gael Kakuta will join them on loan from Chinese Super League club Hebei China Fortune for the rest of the season.

Kakuta, 25, passed a medical earlier this week and will remain in Spain until June 2017.

He had swapped west London for Sevilla in 2015 having failed to make his mark at Stamford Bridge and spent loan spells with six different clubs.

Sevilla reportedly had to pay €3.5 million compensation for the out-of-contract Kakuta -- but nearly doubled that fee by selling the Frenchman onto China.

"I like La Liga a lot and am glad to have the chance to return," Kakuta told the club's official website. "I am in good shape and have spent the month working with a strength coach. I worked a bit with the club in China. I am fine."

Kakuta asked fans to give him time to adjust "because I am coming from a country that is six hours ahead of you here."

He said that his playing time would be in the hands of coach Gaizka Garitano.

"I like the way this club play football -- they move the ball well," he added. "I know all the players because La Liga games are televised [in China]."
