Hull City closing on loan move for Olympiakos' Omar Elabdellaoui

Hull City are closing in on the loan signing of Olympiakos defender Omar Elabdellaoui, sources close to the club have told ESPN FC.

ESPN FC revealed earlier this month that the Tigers were among several Premier League clubs lining up a move for the Norway international full-back.

Elabdellaoui started his professional career at Manchester City after joining from Norwegian club Skeid at the age of 16 but never played for the first team and joined Braunschweig in 2013 before moving to Olympiakos a season later.

Newly-appointed Hull manager Marco Silva worked with the defender during his time in charge of the Greek club and sees him as a key addition.

Elabdellaoui, 25, has struggled to hold down a place in the starting XI this term and Olympiakos are happy to loan him out with a view to a permanent deal.

Hull are short of options at right-back, with first choice Ahmed Elmohamady at the African Nations Cup and Moses Odubajo a long-term injury absentee.
