Wolves sign Benfica loanee Helder Costa to permanent deal for £13m fee

Wolves have completed the permanent signing of winger Helder Costa from Benfica, the Sky Bet Championship club have announced.

It is reported that Wanderers have smashed their transfer record by paying £13 million for the 23-year-old, who has penned a four-and-a-half-year contract at Molineux.

Costa has impressed since arriving in the Midlands last summer, scoring nine goals in all competitions, and Wolves have moved quickly to tie the player down on a long-term deal.

He told wolves.co.uk: "I am very happy to have signed this deal.

"I am enjoying every moment here at Wolves and now I want to get back to work and help get Wolves back up to the Premier League.

"The fans have been incredible both to me and to the team. We are going to do our best and keep pushing to the end of the season.''

Head coach Paul Lambert added: "This is great news for Helder, great news for the club and great news for the supporters.

"For how good he has been for Wolves, Wolves have been great for Helder as well.

"Going forward this is a big statement by the owners.''
