RB Leipzig's Emil Forsberg ready to 'test himself at big club' - agent

The agent of RB Leipzig's Emil Forsberg says the Bundesliga's leading assist provider is ready to "test himself at one of the big clubs."

Forsberg led the Bundesliga with 19 assists this season and also contributed eight goals to help Leipzig to a stunning second-place finish and a Champions League spot. That has made the 25-year-old Sweden international a transfer target this summer, and he has been linked with Bayern Munich, Liverpool, Arsenal and AC Milan, among others.

His agent, Hasan Cetinkaya, told Swedish newspaper Aftonbladet that there is concrete interest in Forsberg, but would not disclose from where.

"I will never comment on which clubs are involved. But there are big clubs who are very interested in Emil," Cetinkaya was quoted as saying. "Obviously RB know that if they want to keep Emil they have to make sure he's always happy. He has repaid the club 10 times over. It might be time to test himself at one of the big clubs."

Forsberg joined Leipzig in 2015 and helped the team get promoted to the Bundesliga in his first season, when he was voted best player in the German second division.

Cetinkaya said he could still stay in Leipzig, but hinted that an improved contract will be necessary to keep him there.

"If RB want to be in the fight, they really have to show it. Even if he has a good deal, it's not at the level you get at the biggest clubs in Europe," he said.

It has been reported that Forsberg has already told Leipzig director Ralf Rangnick that he wants to leave, but Cetinkaya would not confirm that.

"The only thing I can say, out of respect for Ralf, is that he's the one who makes the final decision," Cetinkaya said. "We have built this up together with Ralf and we would never take a fight against him.

"For me he's a man of honour and he will decide the future. He has always done what's best for Emil."
