Celta Vigo interested in Nolito return from Manchester City - director

Celta Vigo are interested in bringing Manchester City winger Nolito back to the club, sporting director Felipe Minambres has said.

Nolito has started only 14 games in all competitions for City since his €18 million switch from Celta last summer.

The Spain international has three years remaining on his contract but said this week he would be open to a return.

And Minambres told a news conference: "Nolito is an interesting player, who played and succeeded here.

"He is a great player, but in order for things to be completed with Nolito, just as with the majority of signings, three parties have to be in agreement. This, at times, is not easy.

"It is one thing is to be interested and another thing that we can get it done."

Nolito, 30, would have to consider taking a huge pay cut to return to Celta.

He had high hopes of making an impact in the Premier League but made only nine starts and 10 appearances as a substitute.

Minambres also revealed during Wednesday's unveiling of new coach Juan Carlos Unzue that the club were in talks with Fulham over the permanent signing of Spanish midfielder Jozabed.

Jozabed joined Celta on loan in January and they can make the move permanent for €5m, a figure they are unwilling to meet.

"Considering that we cannot pay the release clause, we are trying to solve this with Fulham so we can get it done," Minambres said.

Jozabed, who failed to impress during his brief spell in west London, recently spoke of his desire to stay at Celta.
