Hoffenheim midfielder Nadiem Amiri has extended his contract with the club for two more years until 2020.
Amiri, 20, joined Hoffenheim's youth setup in 2012 and played an integral part in his team's surprise fourth-place finish in the Bundesliga last season. Playing in 33 of 34 possible matches, he scored two goals and provided four assists.
"I want to return the trust that I've been given here," Amiri told the club's official website. "Of course I also thought about other offers, which also mark a form of appreciation but I know what I have here and I am confident that I will continuously develop [at Hoffenheim] -- not least because of the [Champions League football]."

Hoffenheim sporting director Alexander Rosen said the deal highlighted Hoffenheim's ambition and suited all parties.
"Considering the list of clubs that showed interest in signing Amiri in recent months alone one can realise what this contract extension means for the club," Rosen said.
He added that completing the deal was "another indicator that [Hoffenheim] can provide an exciting challenge with international football, excellent infrastructure, and an extraordinary coaching staff for a young, ambitious footballer."
Hoffenheim coach Julian Nagelsmann, who recently extended his own contract until 2021, said Amiri is a "special player, who made his way from youth level to a young professional with resolve.
"His development, however, is still not concluded, and it's nice to be part of that for years to come."
Hoffenheim will enter the Champions League playoff round as an unseeded team in mid-August in the hope of qualifying for the group stage for the first time in club history.
