Julian Brandt rules out Leverkusen exit amid Bayern Munich, Liverpool links

Germany international Julian Brandt has ruled out a summer move, saying he wants to "straighten things out" after a disappointing season at Bayer Leverkusen.

Brandt, 21, has previously been linked with Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool and Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich.

Bild reported earlier this year that the German international had already given his word on a move to Bayern, further speculating only the timing of the move was up for discussion with a fee of €30 million due for his services this summer -- dropping to €12.5m if the 21-year-old ended up moving in 2018 by virtue of a buyout clause.

Brandt is under contract at Leverkusen until 2019, who finished 12th in the Bundesliga last season and missed out on qualifying for European competition.

"My gut feeling and my head are telling me the time to move has not arrived yet. I have to straighten things out in Leverkusen," Brandt told kicker.

"Of course, there are players who say a year without European football before the World Cup is good reason to move. But if you move to a bigger club a year before the World Cup, you risk taking time at first to settle which possibly means playing fewer games."

The Leverkusen attacker is currently on international duty in the Confederations Cup in Russia and was a substitute in Germany's 3-1 victory over Cameroon, which guaranteed the World Cup winners a semifinal place.

Bayern's technical director Michael Reschke signed the German international from Wolfsburg while in charge of Leverkusen's transfers in 2014.
