Monaco eye Stoke's Julien Ngoy amid Kylian Mbappe uncertainty - sources

Stoke striker Julien Ngoy is a target for Monaco if they lose Kylian Mbappe in the summer, sources close to the French club have told ESPN FC.

Ngoy, signed by Stoke from Brugge as a 15-year-old in 2013, is seen as one of the best young prospects in Europe.

Stoke saw off competition from clubs including Manchester United and Real Madrid to sign the striker, who made his first-team debut against Arsenal in December after impressing for the under-23s.

The 19-year-old was nominated for Premier League 2 Player of the Season and is tipped to become a first-team regular next season.

Monaco are monitoring his situation as they consider possible replacements for Real Madrid and Arsenal target Mbappe.

Coaching staff see similarities between Ngoy and Mbappe, and Monaco are determined to continue their policy of developing young players.

Arsenal, West Ham United and RB Leipzig are also keeping tabs on Ngoy, but Monaco are ready to move for the Belgium under-21 international.
