Former Man City left-back Clichy to join Turkish club Istanbul Basaksehir

Gael Clichy is finalising a move to join Turkish club Istanbul Basaksehir, with the former Man City and Arsenal player expected to undergo a medical before signing a new contract on Friday.

Clichy, 31, was not offered a new deal at the Etihad at the end of the 2016-17 season, as Pep Guardiola began a squad overhaul ahead of his second season in charge at Man City.

The club announced the move on their Twitter page on Thursday:

Although terms of the deal were not disclosed, reports out of Turkey say that the former France international will sign a three-year deal that will pay him €3 million per season.

Clichy spent six seasons at Manchester City, twice winning the Premier League title and EFL Cup with the club.
