Tottenham eye Southampton keeper Paulo Gazzaniga - source

Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing Southampton goalkeeper Paulo Gazzaniga, a source has told ESPN FC.

Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino needs a replacement for Spain under-21 keeper Paul Lopez, who has returned to Espanyol after spending last season on loan at Spurs.

He believes Gazzaniga can provide competition for Michel Vorm, the deputy to club captain Hugo Lloris.

Pochettino and Gazzaniga both hail from the town of Murphy, in Argentina, and the manager knows the 25-year-old from his time at Southampton.

Gazzaniga made 32 appearances on loan at Rayo Vallencano in the Spanish Segunda Division last season, and has played 22 times in the Premier League for Southampton.

Spurs are the only club in England's top four divisions yet to make a summer signing.
