Trabzonspor eye loan move for Tottenham midfielder Moussa Sissoko

Trabzonspor president Muharrem Usta has said the Turkish club are in talks with Tottenham Hotspur's club-record signing Moussa Sissoko about a loan move.

Sissoko, 27, joined Spurs from Newcastle for £30 million on deadline day last summer but started just eight Premier League matches last season and was criticised by coach Mauricio Pochettino for his performances in training.

Sources have told ESPN FC that Pochettino will listen to offers for the France international midfielder, who has four years remaining on his contract.

Usta said talks were already underway, but TRT Spor quoted him as saying: "He is a very important player -- Tottenham paid £35m (sic) for him.

"He didn't live up to expectations last season but this can happen in football. We want to loan him and get his career back on track.

"Obviously Tottenham do not want to give up on a player they paid that kind of money for, but we will see."

Last week, Spurs goalkeeper Hugo Lloris, a France teammate, said Sissoko needed to play more to win a place in France's 2018 World Cup squad.
