Everton agree deal to sign Besiktas striker Cenk Tosun

Everton boss Sam Allardyce has revealed the club are close to sealing a deal for Besiktas striker Cenk Tosun.

Allardyce said at his prematch news conference on Thursday that talks over personal terms are advanced and that the frontman, reportedly valued at £27 million, could be registered in time for Friday night's FA Cup third round clash with derby rivals Liverpool.

He said: "We've agreed a deal and are at the stage of personal terms. Hopefully, we might be able to get him registered in time to play in the cup."

Besiktas president Fikret Orman said: "Our interests and the player's interests are important. Cenk wants to join Everton. We want to do our part. We are working on a replacement.

"The era of buy, buy, buy is over. This is the era of buy, add value and sell."

Orman said a final deal "has not been reached yet, but we have an agreement over the price" and added: "The end is near. The transfer will be wrapped up by the weekend."

Meanwhile, Allaryce said Everton had received no bids for striker Sandro Ramirez, who has failed to impress since arriving in the summer.

He added: "If anybody was to leave, it would have to be the right fee for us."

Information from ESPN FC's Eren Sarigul was used in this report.
