Raphael Dwamena signs for Levante

Ghana striker Raphael Dwamena has completed a switch Levante after agreeing terms on a four-year deal, according to the Spanish club.

The 22-year-old makes the switch from FC Zurich after a season and a half with the Swiss Super League club.

Dwamena has secured the move to the Spanish top flight a year after a proposed move to the Premier League fell through when he failed a medical at Brighton and Hove Albion.

The forward scored 28 goals and provided 18 assists in 56 games for FC Zurich, and told KweséESPN he is grateful for their support especially after the failed move to Brighton.

"Naturally, you lose it when you don't get what you expect," Dwamena began, "but everything happens for a reason and now I am heading to a top league again.

"I really appreciate FC Zurich for their support when my career almost hit rock bottom," he added. "They helped me quickly buckle up and fight on."

Dwamena's arrival in La Liga takes the number of Ghana internationals in the Spanish top flight to five.

He will compete for a place in the Levante side with international teammate Emmanuel Boateng, Patrick Twumasi has joined Mubarak Wakaso at Alaves, while Thomas Partey is on the books of Atletico Madrid.

Dwamena signs for Levante a day after the Frogs sealed a deal to bring Nigeria international Moses Simon to the Ciutat de Valencia.
