Ray Gaddis, Philadelphia Union's all-time minutes leader, re-signs for 2019

The Philadelphia Union's all-time minutes leader will get to pad his record, as full-back Raymon Gaddis has re-signed for the 2019 season.

The club announced the transaction on Wednesday. No details were disclosed.

"We are looking forward to welcoming Ray back to the Union," team sporting director Ernst Tanner said in a press release. "He is a tireless worker with an incredible heart and attitude to match. A crucial part of our locker room, he provides an excellent veteran presence on and off the field.

"He also serves as a role model for our younger players, particularly our young fullbacks."

Gaddis, who turns 29 on Sunday, has made 172 appearances with the Union since launching his MLS career in 2012.

He appeared in 28 matches and tallied two assists in 2018. He is the club's all-time leader in minutes (14,468) and starts (162).

Gaddis played collegiately at West Virginia (2008-11) and was selected in the second round of the 2012 MLS SuperDraft by Philadelphia.

The Union open the season at home against Toronto FC on March 2.
