TOP STORY: Man United agree deal with Mandzukic

Manchester United have been linked with Juventus forward Paulo Dybala throughout the past week, but it's only in the last couple of days that Mario Mandzukic's name entered the discussions.

Now it seems the transfer talks have moved on quickly, with the Daily Mail reporting that the 33-year-old has agreed personal terms on a three-year contract worth £6.2m-a-year -- earning him a third more than he receives in Turin.

The original plan was that Romelu Lukaku would head to Juve as part of a swap for Dybala, but now it seems that Mandzukic could become a makeweight in the deal which takes Lukaku to Italy.

United certainly haven't given up on Dybala, despite the player's excessive wage demands, and it could yet be that Mandzukic moves to Old Trafford as a standalone purchase for around £15m.

If Mandzukic does complete his move, it is surely certain that Lukaku will go in the opposite direction himself.

23.01 BST: Potentially big news regarding Romelu Lukaku...

After recent reports suggested the Belgian's move to Juventus had stalled due to Paulo Dybala's refusal to go the other way and join Man United, reports are Inter have made an improved bid.

Italian journalist Tancredi Palmeri claims that Inter have bid €75 million plus €5m in add-ons for the Man United hitman.

Juventus and Inter have been jockeying in recent weeks to sign the 26-year-old with Juve, until the recent reports regarding Dybala, having been thought to be the leaders. There is sure to be a twist or two to come in this transfer tale...

22.28 BST: Premier League promotion hopefuls Fulham need some steel in the middle of the park, as was evidenced in the club's surprising season-opening loss to Barnsley.

Help could soon be on the way, as Fulham are reportedly set to add Bournemouth and Republic of Ireland midfielder Harry Arter on a season-long loan. Seems like a run-of-the-mill Football League deal but there is more to this one than meets the eye.

At Fulham, Arter would play for new Cottagers manager Scott Parker, who also happens to be his brother-in-law! Parker is married to Arter's sister Carly and the two are reportedly very close. A no-nonsense player, Arter played 25 times last season for Cardiff in the Premier League while on loan.

Having your brother-in-law as a coach... awkward.

21.49 BST: Liverpool will be in the market for a backup goalkeeper, as current No. 2 Simon Mignolet is on the move.

Mignolet is set for a £6.4 million move to Club Brugge in his native Belgium, according to multiple reports. The move will end a six-year, 204-appearance spell for the 31-year-old at Anfield, Mignolet having been one of Brendan Rodgers' first signings with the club.

Liverpool will be looking for a goalkeeper now with Cardiff's Neil Etheridge and former West Ham shot-stopper Adrian two names to keep an eye on.

21.11 BST: Kieran Tierney may not be the only defender that Celtic could lose before deadline day, as Lille are reportedly close to signing centre-back Jozo Simunovic.

Football Insider understands that the Croatian has agreed to personal teams with the Ligue 1 runner-ups and that Celtic are just waiting for Los Dogues to up their previous £4 million bid for the 24-year-old.

20.39 BST: Is Boca Juniors starlet Cristian Pavon about to become the next South American talent to move to MLS?

The 23-year-old forward has been linked with a move to LA and a reunion with ex-Boca manager Guillermo Barros Schelotto all summer, before recent reports indicated he was headed for France and Bordeaux. It appears things have taken another turn as the latest reports claim Pavon is now in LA to finalise a move to the Galaxy. There have even been leaked photos of Pavon holding a Galaxy jersey.

The deal would reportedly be a short-term loan with an option to buy, and pair Pavon with Zlatan Ibrahimovic at the top of the Galaxy's attack. Josef Martinez, Miguel Almiron, Ezeqiuel Barco and Pity Martinez are a few of the South American stars who have moved to the States in recent years.

20.05 BST: Man United are set to end talks with Juventus attacker Paulo Dybala, sources tell ESPN FC.

United, who were in discussions with Juve over a potential Romelu Lukaku/Dybala swap have concerns about Dybala's desire to move to Old Trafford. The Argentine had stalled on making a decision about whether or not to quit the Italian champions for the Premier League because of a reluctance to swap Champions League football for at least one season in the Europa League.

United, according to sources, do not want to meet Dybala's wage demands while complications over the 25-year-old images rights have made him hard to value. Juve, who are still keen on Lukaku, have also proposed forward Mario Mandzukic to Man United in a swap plus cash deal.

19.29 BST: Everton have had a big summer, having already signed Fabian Deplh, Andre Gomes, Jean-Philippe Gbamin and most recently Moise Keane. Could there be even more moves on the horizon for the Toffees?

French outlet RMC Sport suggests that Everton have had a £32 million for Watford central midfielder Abdoulaye Doucoure rejected. Marco Silva, who coached Doucoure at Watord, is reportedly desperate to sign the Frenchman, as he aims to replace Idrissa Gueye -- who recently left Goodison Park for PSG.

The 26-year-old Doucoure was one of the most underrated players in the Premier League last season, scoring five goals and chipping in six assists as the heartbeat of the Hornets. RMC goes on to say that Everton want Doucoure at all costs and will be back with improved offers.

19.02 BST: With Man United set to sign Harry Maguire from Leicester City, Pep Guardiola weighed in after Man City's Community Shield victory over Liverpool.

So it is true that United beat City in the race for Maguire but can they beat their rivals on the pitch? That figures to be a much tougher proposition...

18.25 BST: Have Celtic identified a replacement for Arsenal target Kieran Tierney?

The Scotsman writes that the Scottish treble winners are interested in Hull left-back Stephen Kingsley. After rejecting two previous Arsenal bid, Celtic are braced for more, and could target the 25-year-old Scot Kingsley to take his place.

With Tierney out injured with groin pain for up to eight weeks, it will interesting to see what Celtic do regarding their homegrown fan favourite Tierney.

17.53 BST: By now it has been well-documented that Serie A clubs Inter Milan and Juventus are interested in Romelu Lukaku but could a third Italian side be in for the Belgian?

Speaking with Sky Sports Italia, Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis has admitted that his club have discussed the idea of signing Lukaku.

"Do you know why something is whispered about him? Because I am a good friend of his agent [Federico] Pastorello , who is very nice to me and I often wake up at dawn.

"I asked him: 'Lukaku would be good for Napoli? But he goes to Juventus or no? 'We spoke in these terms, then we know -- added the president of Naples -- the prosecutors also artfully have an interest in saying that an extra request has arrived for their client to increase the price with another party.

"For this reason I say: we open the market the day after the championship ends and we close it at the end of July. "

It sounds as if Napoli have moved on from Lukaku, but Saturday there were rumours that Napoli could offer Polish striker Arkadiusz Milik and cash for the Belgian striker. Stay tuned.

17.22 BST: Chelsea to listen to offers for former Leicester City star Danny Drinkwater?

After failing to make an official appearance last season -- outside of the Community Shield -- under Maurizio Sarri, Drinkwater looked to have a fresh start under new manager Frank Lampard, especially considering Chelsea's transfer ban. The Telegraph is reporting that that not may be the case and that Drinkwater could still leave Stamford Bridge this summer.

The report goes on to say that he and fellow central midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko could be sold before the end of the transfer deadline, both having been left out of Lampard's team for Chelseas's final friendly on Saturday. The Daily Mail claims Brighton are one club interested in Drinkwater.

16.51 BST: Bristol City are reportedly closing in on singing Monaco midfielder Han-Noah Massengo.

The 18-year-old France underage international made his Monaco debut last season, making seven appearances, including two in the Champions League. The Robins will reportedly pay £7.3 million for Massengo, who immediately will rise to the Championship "Hair Power Rankings" with his Marouane Fellaini-esque hair-do.

16.19 BST: Neymar to Barcelona?

Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu suggested the club could still look to bring in more players this summer after the club confirmed the arrival of Junior Firpo on Sunday.

Bartomeu told fans at the Supporters' Groups World Congress that the signing of Junior was done and added: "There are still a few weeks to go before the transfer window closes and there could be another signing."

The Barca chief's comments will fuel talk that Neymar could be set for a sensational Camp Nou return. Diario Sport reported on Sunday that Barca remain in talks with Paris Saint-Germain and that the Brazilian -- who's expressed his desire to leave France -- could even join on loan with an option to buy next year.

Barca have already made four signings this summer. Junior follows Frenkie de Jong, Antoine Griezmann and Neto in the door at the Spanish champions.

15.43 BST: Swansea recently sold Oli McBurnie to Sheffield United but a replacement may be on the way.

The BBC suggests that the South Wales club is set to sign forward Aldo Kalulu from FC Basel on a season-long loan. The 23-year-old speedster scored 11 times in 2017-18 on loan at French side Sochaux in 2017-18 but has yet to break his duck in 17 games for the Swiss club. A former France Under-18 international, Kalulu came through the famed Lyon academy, eventually making 20 first-team appearances for OL.

15.19 BST: Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski has called on the club to make high-profile signings that can have an immediate impact rather than players with potential.

"Sure, the young players on the bench have potential, that's true -- but sometimes you need direct reinforcement from someone who can come in and help the team," Lewandowski said.

He might get his wish if Leroy Sane completes a move from Manchester City this week.

L'Equipe reports that Maupay, who scored 25 Championship goals last season, will sign a four-year deal barring any late hitches. Maupay, who has also played for Nice and Saint-Etienne, has not featured for the Bees in preseason amid speculation over his future. Brighton are also said to be tracking trasbourg defender Kenny Lala.

14.05 BST: Yet another DONE DEAL! Takuma Asano has left Arsenal for Partizan Belgrade after three years with the Gunners. The Japan international never made a single appearance for the Gunners as he never qualified for a work permit in the UK. The terms of the deal have not been disclosed.

13.39 BST: Could Radamel Falcao be leaving AS Monaco this summer? The striker said after Saturday's 1-0 friendly win over Sampdoria that he is weighing up his options with just a year left on his contract.

"The truth is that I still have a year of contract and the club did not offer me an extension," the 33-year-old said. "So I have to think about my future, my family. I am studying the offers I have. These are good opportunities for my career. I have to think about my family."

13.03 BST: Could Man City make a late swoop for Real Madrid midfielder Isco? The Daily Express reckons that City could complete a deal for a player who is surplus to requirements before Thursday's deadline. Pep Guardiola is also been linked with a move from Bournemouth centre-back Nathan Ake.

12.38 BST: Inter Milan's hopes of signing Edin Dzeko from AS Roma could be scuppered by the price tag. La Repubblica says that Roma want €20m plus add-ons if they are to part with the striker -- but so far Inter will not offer a package worth more than €15m in total.

12.12 BST: And ANOTHER! Yep, it's the third done deal of a busy day of transfer dealing. This time it's Barcelona who have announced a signing, with Real Betis defender Junior Firpo moving to Camp Nou for €18m with a possible €12m in add-ons. The buyout clause is set at a whopping €200m.

11.43 BST: We have another DONE DEAL and this is a big one for Everton fans. They have manage to snaffle one of the hottest prospects in European football, with Italy international Moise Kean moving from Juventus. The 19-year-old striker switches to Goodison Park for €27.5m, with a further €2.5m possible in add-ons. This could be cracking business!

11.11 BST: Sky Sports in Germany is reporting that Bayern Munich are closing in on the signing of Leroy Sane from Manchester City, but the transfer will not be completed before Thursday.

10.45 BST: Could Philippe Coutinho be heading back to the Premier League? Not to Liverpool or Manchester United, but now Sport reports that Arsenal could move to sign the Brazilian on loan. However, the suggestion that Barca are looking for a £27m loan fee would indicate this deal isn't going to happen. Arsenal play Barcelona in the Gamper Trophy at the Camp Nou on Sunday.

10.22 BST: It's time for another HARRY MAGUIRE KLAXON. The Leicester defender has now been pictured arriving at Manchester United's Carrington training complex.

10.06 BST: We have our first DONE DEAL of the day already! AC Milan have announced the signing of Ismael Bennacer from Empoli. The Algerian midfielder has penned a five-year contract and moves for a reported fee of €13m.

09.30 BST: Good morning, transfer fans! We start with news of Harry Maguire's £80m move from Leicester to Manchester United. The centre-back has been pictured leaving a Manchester hotel, probably bound for a medical, as the transfer edges ever nearer.

PAPER ROUND (by Steve Wright)

TOP STORY: Madrid near deal for Van de Beek

The exodus of top stars looks set to continue at Ajax, with Real Madrid close to completing the signing of midfielder Donny van de Beek, according to Marca.

Van de Beek, who scored for Ajax in their 2-2 Eredivisie draw with Vitesse Arnhem on Saturday, has already reached an agreement with Los Blancos, according to the report, and all that's left to do is for Ajax to approve the move to Zinedine Zidane's side.

It's thought that an offer between €60 million and €70 million would be enough to persuade the Dutch club to let Van de Beek follow Frenkie de Jong and Matthijs de Ligt out the door for last season's Champions League semifinalists.

The report also suggests the move would decrease the likelihood of Madrid going for Paul Pogba, who Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer said will "no doubt" be staying at Old Trafford for the upcoming season.

Cancelo to Man City picks up steam

Manchester City could be lining up a £32 million move for Juventus full-back Joao Cancelo, with Danilo heading in the opposite direction, according to the Daily Mail.

- When does the transfer window close?

The transfer window closes on Thursday, but it's thought that City and Juventus will get the deal across the line on Monday. Danilo has barely featured for Pep Guardiola's City in recent months, so it's no surprise to see him offered in a deal that will allow him to reunite with fellow former Porto full-back Alex Sandro.

As for Cancelo, the 25-year-old doesn't appear to be a part of Maurizio Sarri's plans in Serie A, but Guardiola could use him as competition for Kyle Walker.

Palace to snap up free agent Cahill

Crystal Palace boss Roy Hodgson could be reunited with former England colleague Gary Cahill, as the Eagles look set to act first on the defender's release from Chelsea, The Sun reports.

The two-year deal will see Cahill earn £75,000 per week at a club where transfer activity has been kept to a minimum this summer.

Burnley had previously been linked with Cahill, but it's thought that they would only have gone for him had they lost James Tarkowski, so it looks like Hodgson has a free run at this one.

Tap-ins

- Brighton have approached Chelsea over the possibility of taking Danny Drinkwater -- who was left out of the squad in Chelsea's preseason finale vs. Borussia Monchengladbach after failing to make a single competitive appearance under Maurizio Sarri - on loan, according to the Mail.

- With Harry Maguire on the verge of joining Manchester United, Brendan Rodgers is turning to former club Celtic to find a replacement for his back line, with the Star writing that Leicester want to sign six-foot-five 21-year-old centre-back Kristoffer Ajer.

- Tottenham Hotspur could be close to having a new midfielder on their hands, as Bruno Fernandes has told Sporting Lisbon that he wants to join the North London club, the
