TOP STORY: Real will come for Eriksen, then Pochettino
Wantaway Tottenham Hotspur attacker Christian Eriksen is set to sign a pre-contract with Real Madrid in January, according to the Mirror. The report adds that the La Liga side will then go for Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino.
Denmark international Eriksen made no secret of his desire to leave the London club in the summer, but Spurs wouldn't allow it. Should they sell him, they'll be hoping to do so in the January transfer window so they can at least recoup some of his value.
Spurs are hoping to attract a bid of around £30 million to sell Eriksen in January, rather than seeing the midfielder play out his contract and leave for nothing in the summer.
The Spanish giants have also made Pochettino their No. 1 target to replace Zinedine Zidane with the Real Madrid boss already under pressure despite their solid start in La Liga.

Former Man United and Chelsea chief executive Peter Kenyon has launched a new £300 million bid to takeover the Magpies. Kenyon, and Florida-based GACP Sports have offered £300m, including £125m, up front to buy the club from unpopular owner Mike Ashley.
Sportsmail has seen a thorough and elaborate proposal brochure from Kenyon and Co. outlining their plans to re-establish Toon as a top 10 Premier League side again. Kenyon, alongside a different American consortium failed with a bid to by the club earlier this year.
22.20 BST: Napoli and Spain midfielder Fabian Ruiz is drawing rave reviews in Italy and continues to attract Europe's top clubs.
The 23-year-old, who has been linked with Barcelona, is now reportedly on the radars of Premier League giants Manchester City and Liverpool. The Spanish media suggests that Napoli want around €60 million for the playmaker, while Sport Witness adds that "Liverpool and Manchester City, have been pulled into the chase."
Calciomercato also list Real Madrid as a potential suitor, while Man United have also been linked in recent weeks. Young Ruiz would appear to be a man in-demand and one to keep a close eye on this summer.
21.07 BST: Ipswich Town defender Barry Cotter has joined Chelmsford City on loan for a month. The 20-year-old former Ireland Under-19 international signed with the Tractor Boys in 2018 and will join Chelmsford City who currently play in England's sixth tier.
20.22 BST: Sporting Lisbon are reportedly soon set to appoint a new manager and the name might ring a bell with some in England.
According to reports in Portugal, Jorge Manuel Rebelo Fernandes, better known as Silas, is set to take over at Sporting, who parted ways with predecessor Marcel Keizer earlier this month. As a player, the Portuguese spent three years at Wolves (2003-06) but flopped making just nine total appearances after signing for £1 million from Jose Mourinho's Uniao Leiria. Silas recently was let go by Belenenses where he amassed a record of 16 wins, 29 losses and 21 draws in 66 matches.
Sporting currently sit seventh in Primeira Liga and also are competing in the Europa League.
19.37 BST: Are former MLS MVP and Portland Timbers star Diego Valeri's days in the Pacific Northwest numbered?
The four-time league All-Star led the Timbers to MLS Cup in 2015 and has been a constant with the club since arriving from Lanus in 2013. The Argentine attacker's contract is set to expire at the end of the season and recent reports suggest that the player and club are currently at an impasse regarding an extension.
Following the Timbers' 2-2 draw with the New England Revolution on Wednesday, the 33-year-old was asked about his future in Portland:
"I will talk about all this, about my contract situation, after the regular season or after the season is done," Valeri told reporters. "We have a couple of important games to play so it doesn't make sense for me.
"Respecting my teammates, our supporters - I don't think it's a great idea to talk about that. For me too, I want to be focused on finishing the regular season. It doesn't make sense. We will talk about that later when the season is done."
If Valeri does leave the league all signs point to him returning to his native Argentina.
18.46 BST: Gonzalo Higuain is back with Juventus after a pair of unsuccessful loan spells last season but does the Argentine have a long-term future at the club?
In an interview with Fox Sports Argentina, Higuain said the following regarding his future: "I don't know when I retire, but right now I want to stay at Juventus and honor my contract. I feel good here, I know the team and the medical staff, so it was easy to return here. "Return to River Plate? I'll never close the door on them."
Higuain came through the youth ranks at River Plate and spent the 2005-06 season with River's first team before signing with Real Madrid. The 31-year-old has started four of Juve's five Serie A game this season scoring one goal.
18.03 BST: Staying with Juventus for a moment... What is next for forgotten man Mario Mandzukic?
The Croatian forward is way down on new Juve manager Maurizio Sarri's pecking order and was given permission to leave the club in the summer. The 33-year-old was linked with a move to Manchester United and later Qatar but is still on the books in Turin.
Mandzukic, who recently rejected a £7 million-a-year contract with Qatari side Al-Rayyan, hopes to play in the Premier League and now is being linked with a move to West Ham. TuttoJuve claims that Juve have January offers on the table from both United and West Ham, and that Juventus are hoping to get €10 million for the player.

17.27 BST: Could Aston Villa be close to signing a player from European giants Juventus?
Italian outlet Il Bianconero claims that Juve are looking to offload goalkeeper Mattia Perin to Aston Villa, Monaco or Sporting Lisbon in January. The 26-year-old shot-stopper has appeared just nine times for the Old Lady since joining from Genoa in 2018 but has vast experience in Serie A.
Villa were linked with Perrin among other goalkeepers this summer but ultimately signed Tom Heaton, suggesting a move for Perrin in January is now unlikely.
16.44 BST: Man United are still looking for a striker and the Daily Mail claims that club scouts have watched former Celtic striker Moussa Dembele in action during his last three games.
Dembele has scored six goals in six games for Lyon and has reportedly been on United's radar for some time.
15.23 BST: Jadon Sancho (read all about him in this piece) is one of the top young players in Europe and sources have told ESPN that Man United are keen to sign him. But is he better than United forward Marcus Rashford?
14.30 BST: Frenkie de Jong joined Barcelona from Ajax for €75m this summer, but he has revealed which clubs he would have considered if he had not ended up at Camp Nou.
"If it had not been Barca, I find it hard to say it now, it would have been PSG or City," De Jong told El Periodico. "It is not right to talk about [money]. Money was not my business. Money was never discussed in the meeting room with me. It was a matter for my agent. The most important thing was the way [Barcelona] played and how they saw me, what plans they had for me."
13.26 BST: Bear with us here, because this one requires a leap of imagination to believe that Xavi is now Barcelona manager.
Ok, so for a moment, just think that Ernesto Valverde is gone and Xavi has given up his Qatar adventure to come back and manage at Camp Nou. The first thing he wants to do when he gets there, says the Daily Mail, is sign Raheem Sterling from Manchester City.
Real Madrid were linked with Sterling a few days ago and now Barcelona. We imagine if Xavi does come back to the club, we can finally stop talking about Neymar's return.

12.32 BST: Brazilian teenager Rodrygo has distanced himself from comparisons with compatriot Ronaldo after scoring on his Real Madrid debut.
The 18-year-old netted 93 seconds after replacing Vinicius Jr on 71 minutes of Wednesday's 2-0 win over Osasuna.
"I don't want to be compared to Ronaldo because he is one of the best in the history of football and of my country," Rodrygo, who joined Madrid from Santos in the summer, told the club's website. "I know I always have to prove that I can play here."
11.56 BST: La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that both Wolves and Monaco are keen to sign midfielder Franck Kessie from AC Milan in January.
Kessie, 22, is deemed replaceable at Milan and a fee of €25m plus bonuses (which was reportedly already agreed by Monaco in the summer before the move fell through) would be acceptable.
10.42 BST: How much is Harry Kane worth? Well, Tottenham seem to think it's £250m, according to the Daily Telegraph.
The England striker, 26, signed a new six‑year contract worth up to £200,000-a-week in 2018, so the club have all the power if any interested club does come knocking and that's why his pricetag is so high. But how long will he stick around if Tottenham have another season without winning a trophy?
09.52 BST: Chicago Fire target Andres Guardado is set to sign new deal at Real Betis, according to local Sevilla publication Estadio Deportivo.
TUDN had reported that the Mexico international midfielder would leave for MLS in 2020.
08.47 BST: Zlatan Ibrahimovic's agent, Mino Raiola, has vehemently denied reports he has offered the striker's services to Boca Juniors.
The 37-year-old becomes a free agent in December when his contract with LA Galaxy expires and reports in Argentina have linked the Swedish icon with a move to Boca.
Raiola wrote on Twitter: "I have never offered Ibrahimovic to Boca Juniors or anybody else. Total #fakenews."
08.00 BST: Former Barcelona captain Carles Puyol has rejected the chance to rejoin the club as a general manager in place of Pep Segura who left in July by mutual consent.
President Josep Maria Bartomeu said this month he was hopeful of convincing Puyol to return to Camp Nou, where he played as a defender for his entire career, between 1999 and 2014.

Everton to snap up Malen?
Everton are set to battle with Arsenal over transfer target Donyell Malen, The Sun reports.
Malen has already scored 11 goals in 14 appearances this season, so it's no surprise to see the ex-Arsenal academy player linked with a return to the Premier League.
Everton Director of Football Marcel Brands has put an emphasis on signing young talent, having brought in Moise Kean from Juventus this summer, so the Toffees could hold the advantage in this scenario.
Arsenal, who sold him to Jong PSV in 2017, would be willing to spend £50 million to bring him back to the Emirates Stadium. He initially left the Gunners because he wasn't getting enough game time.
U.S. keeper Steffen to remain in Bundesliga
United States goalkeeper Zack Steffen's loan deal at Fortuna Dusseldorf from parent club Manchester City could be extended beyond this season, according to Calciomercato.
Steffen has impressed Bundesliga observers so far during his stay in Dusseldorf, having played every minute this season for the club.
He has been the first choice keeper for the U.S. during its most recent matches, and made the move from MLS' Columbus Crew to Europe this summer.
