Liverpool's Rhian Brewster signs for Swansea on loan

Liverpool youngster Rhian Brewster has signed for Championship side Swansea City on loan for the rest of the season, it was announced on Tuesday.

Brewster made his third senior appearance when he came on as a substitute in Liverpool's FA Cup third-round win over Everton on Sunday.

The 19-year-old made his first-team debut in a 2-0 win over MK Dons in the Carabao Cup in September. He was an unused substitute for Jurgen Klopp's side in their 2019 Champions League final win over Tottenham Hotspur.

"It's a great club. I've been watching them for ages -- particularly when they were in the Premier League. Hopefully, I can help them get back to where they belong, Brewster said in an interview. "At this moment in time, Swansea is the best team for me to join on loan. I want to help Swansea get promoted."

Brewster won the Under-17 World Cup with England in 2017, finishing as the tournament's top scorer with eight goals. He started his club career with Chelsea before joining Liverpool as a 14-year-old.

Swansea are sixth in the Championship, one point inside the playoff places.
