Manchester United agree Ashley Young fee for Inter Milan move - sources

Ashley Young is closing in on a move to Inter Milan after the Italian club agreed a fee with Manchester United, sources have told ESPN.

Young is set to sign an 18-month contract with the Serie A side, with the option of an additional 12 months, after United accepted a bid of around €1.5 million.

The 34-year-old will fly to Italy on Friday to undergo a medical before completing the move and joining up with Antonio Conte and former teammates Romelu Lukaku and Alexis Sanchez at the San Siro.

United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer had hoped to keep Young, who was appointed club captain in the summer following the departure of Antonio Valencia, until at least the end of the season.

However, the England defender rejected the offer of a new contract to extend his stay at Old Trafford and instead informed club chiefs of his desire to head to Inter.

He has made 261 appearances for United following his move from Aston Villa in 2011, winning the Premier League title in 2013, but was omitted from the last three matchday squads amid speculation surrounding his future.
