Muhamed Besic set for Everton move

Everton will formally announce the signing of Bosnia-Herzegovina midfielder Muhamed Besic from Ferencvaros next week, manager Roberto Martinez says.

Besic has travelled with the Toffees to Bangkok, where they will face Leicester City in a friendly on Sunday.

The club have not yet confirmed the signing of the 21-year-old, in what is expected to be a deal worth four million pounds.

And Martinez said that Besic would not play against Leicester, but added that he would be presented officially as an Everton player when the squad returns to England afterwards.

The manager told Everton's official website: "The next few days will allow Mo to meet the players, but more importantly it is an opportunity for him to get into optimum condition ahead of the new season.

"I am looking forward to introducing him to the Everton fans when we come back but first I would like to thank Ferencvaros for the way in which they have approached the negotiations.

"They have been very understanding at this point and we have enjoyed a good working relationship."

Born in Berlin, Besic began his professional career with Hamburg before moving to Hungary to join Ferencvaros in 2012.

He played in all three of Bosnia's matches at the recent World Cup as they exited in the group stage.

Besic will become Everton's second signing of the summer, after midfielder Gareth Barry made his loan move from Manchester City permanent on July 8.
