Fernando Torres joining AC Milan from Chelsea 'a possibility'

Fernando Torres' potential move from Chelsea to AC Milan is moving closer after his representatives were optimistic about the progress of their talks with the Italian club.

Torres, 30, could leave Stamford Bridge before Monday's transfer deadline after three-and-a-half years following the summer arrival of Diego Costa from Atletico Madrid.

After spending just over an hour in negotiations with Milan's general manager Adriano Galliani in Italy one of Torres' representatives, Margarita Garay, told La Gazzetta dello Sport: "I'm still positive."

Another, Antonio Sanz, elaborated to Milannews.it: "The meeting went well. Torres to Milan is a real possibility.

"We will take some time to reflect before giving an answer. I cannot add anything more. Milan are a great club."

Milan are searching for a new forward to replace Mario Balotelli, who moved to Liverpool last week. Torres is currently the name at the top of Galliani's list.

The Spain international has moved a step closer to the Rossoneri, who are looking to agree a loan move with Chelsea for the former Atletico Madrid and Liverpool forward.
