Man City's Yaya Toure to Inter Milan transfer not arranged - Javier Zanetti

Inter Milan vice-president Javier Zanetti says he is focused on building a great side for next season, but that it is "too soon to tell" whether Manchester City's Yaya Toure will be part of it.

Zanetti was asked about a move for Inter coach Roberto Mancini's No. 1 target Toure when speaking to Mediaset ahead of a charity concert by Andrea Bocelli in Milan.

"The coach knows him very well and he's a champion, but it's too soon to tell," the Argentine said. "First we need to know what we want to do. It's going to be a busy summer of work for the whole club.

"We want to create a group who can be even more protagonists next season, while being careful with financial fair play. We hope to be able to set new targets."

Last week, the Ivorian midfielder's agent said his future should be decided "within 10 days."

Meanwhile, part of Zanetti's agenda this summer is discussing whether or not Argentina international Mauro Icardi will be allowed to represent his country at the Olympic Games.

Icardi, 23, is on a list of 35 names which will be cut down in the coming weeks, but Zanetti does not yet know whether Inter will give him permission to leave.

The Olympics take place from Aug. 3-20, therefore ending on the day the 2016-17 Serie A season kicks off.

"We'll see -- this is only a call-up to an expanded squad so far," Zanetti said. "We'll evaluate it and then take the best decision."
