Bayern Munich's Sebastian Rode nearing Dortmund move - reports

Borussia Dortmund are closing in on Bayern Munich midfielder Sebastian Rode, according to media reports in Germany.

Rode, 25, has two years left on his contract at Bayern, but it has been the subject of conjecture of whether his future lies at the Allianz Arena.

In recent weeks, he has been linked with several Bundesliga clubs including Wolfsburg, Borussia Monchengladbach, Bayer Leverkusen, Schalke and Dortmund.

The latter have now reportedly won the race for his signature with personal terms agreed with Thomas Tuchel's side.

According to reports in local outlet Der Westen and football magazine kicker, Rode has set his mind on a transfer to the Westfalenstadion, with the clubs yet to agree on a transfer fee said to be somewhere between €10 million and €15m.

Tabloid Bild also confirmed the reports, but added that unnamed Premier League club still hopes to lure Rode to England. The paper claimed Rode is to meet with the coach of a London-based club on Thursday or Friday and will make a decision after that.

Rode joined Bayern Munich from Eintracht Frankfurt on a free transfer two years ago. The midfielder, however, failed to break into the team under Pep Guardiola.

He played just over 500 minutes of football in all competitions last term, and in two seasons has made a total of 38 Bundesliga performances for the German champions, only 11 of them as a starter.

Rode could be Dortmund's third signing of the summer after already completing the transfers of Osasuna's Mikel Merino and Stade Rennes youngster Ousmane Dembele.
