Diafra Sakho set to sign for West Brom from West Ham United - sources

West Bromwich Albion are on the verge of signing Diafra Sakho from West Ham United with the player having undergone his medical at The Hawthorns, sources close to the club have told ESPN FC.

West Brom agreed a £15 million fee with West Ham for Sakho, 26, earlier this week and the player was given permission to hold talks and undergo a medical.

The Baggies have been searching for striking reinforcements all summer and manager Tony Pulis has identified Sakho as one of his top targets.

Sakho's future has been the subject of conjecture all summer with the player handing in a transfer request as he was reportedly unsettled by West Ham's pursuit of a high-profile striker in this transfer window.

The Senegal international underwent the first part of his medical on Wednesday and the move is set to completed by the end of Friday.

The deal will see Sakho becomes West Brom's record signing, eclipsing the £12m signing of Salomon Rondon from Zenit St Petersburg last summer.

Sakho's move to West Brom could pave the way for Saido Berahino to seal his departure away from The Hawthorns with Stoke City and Crystal Palace chasing his signature.
