Borussia Dortmund defender Neven Subotic's agent has confirmed he is in "interesting talks" and is trying to "make the most of the transfer window" amid speculation of interest from Fiorentina.
Subotic, 27, was linked with a switch to Premier League new boys Middlesbrough earlier this summer but he failed a medical and underwent surgery.
Although Dortmund claimed they expected the Serbian to remain a member of their squad when the transfer window closes, Subotic's absence from their official squad presentation has reignited talk about his future.
On Tuesday, Der Westen linked him with a move to Fiorentina, something his agent, Frieder Gramm, was coy about when asked.
"No comment," Gramm said, adding: "My job is to make the most of the transfer window. We are on it, and are in interesting talks."
Subotic, meanwhile, is confident of returning to the pitch in December. He has already started his rehab training, and told Der Westen that it's "kindergarten" compared to the road to his comeback following an anterior cruciate ligament tear sustained in late 2013.
