Juventus are happy to play the waiting game in their bid to sign Axel Witsel from Zenit St Petersburg, according to CEO Giuseppe Marotta.
Marotta confirmed earlier this week that Juve have opened talks with Zenit to bring Witsel, 27, who is out of contract in the summer, to Turin.
While Marotta has since revealed the negotiations have yet to progress any further, he says the Serie A club are prepared to bide their time, having seen a move for the Belgium international fall through last year.
"There's no news regarding Witsel," Marotta told Juve's official website. "He's a good player, let's wait and see what happens.
"All I can say is that we're a stable club with an ever growing revenue and economic strength that has enabled noteworthy investments of late such as the transfers of Gonzalo Higuain and Miralem Pjanic. The club's objectives go in tandem with those of the team."
Juve have been linked with moves for Atalanta duo Mattia Caldara and Roberto Gagliardini, but Marotta says the club are also keeping tabs on other players.
"Of course, we're working all the time to invest in young talents who deserve to be given a chance," he said. "We've spoken to Atalanta, but not only them."
Marotta, however, suggested that the transfer window overall will be a fairly quiet one for Juve.
"It's difficult to imagine much happening in January, as it's difficult to find a player who can come in and raise the quality of a group such as ours at this point of a season," Marotta added.
