United States keeper Brad Guzan agrees to Atlanta United move

United States goalkeeper Brad Guzan has agreed a deal that will see him move from Middlesbrough to MLS expansion side Atlanta United at the end of the season, the Premier League club confirmed on Wednesday.

Guzan left MLS for England in 2008 to sign for Aston Villa, where he played until making the switch to Middlesbrough this summer. But the Premier League club have started Victor Valdes over Guzan since September.

The 32-year-old Guzan previously played in MLS for the now defunct Chivas USA.

He follows on the heels of fellow U.S. keeper Tim Howard, who moved to the Colorado Rapids this summer after 13 years in England with Manchester United and Everton.

Guzan has been capped 51 times by the United States, most recently in November's 4-0 World Cup qualifying loss to Costa Rica.
