Ricardo Rodriguez in Milan for medical ahead of proposed Wolfsburg exit

Ricardo Rodriguez has arrived in Italy for a medical ahead of a proposed move from Wolfsburg to AC Milan.

The Switzerland international full-back landed in Milan's Malpensa airport on Tuesday evening, where he was met by a club representative and taken to the La Madonnina clinic in the centre of the Lombardy capital for his medical.

"I am delighted to be here -- Forza Milan," Rodriguez said to fans and media awaiting his arrival at Malpensa, reports La Gazzetta dello Sport.

After successfully undergoing his medical, the 24-year-old is set to become the Rossoneri's third new signing this summer, and third since the end of Silvio Berlusconi's near 31-year reign as club owner, joining Mateo Musacchio and Franck Kessie at the disposal of coach Vincenzo Montella next season.

Capped 45 times by Switzerland, Rodriguez played 24 times in the Bundesliga last season, taking him to a total of 149 outings in Germany's top flight.

Milan have yet to confirm his arrival, but revealed in a Tweet that he was coming.

AC Milan have also handed a one-year contract extension to 40-year-old goalkeeper Marco Storari.

The former Cagliari stopper re-joined the Rossoneri in January, having previously been on the San Siro club's books between 2007 and 2010.

Storari has yet to make an appearance in his second stint at the club having failed to dislodge 18-year-old Gianluigi Donnarumma as first-choice keeper.

However, the Serie A side are keen to tap into Storari's experience and have agreed to extend his stay until at least the summer of 2018.

A statement on AC Milan's website read: "Despite not having played, the goalkeeper has had a significant role in the past six months.

"He has been important for the growth and improvement of Donnarumma, [Alessandro] Plizzari and [Alessandro] Guarnone.''
