Glory dominate PFA team of the season

Perth Glory have posted a 6-4 win over Sydney FC ... in the PFA A-League Team of the Season award.

Six Glory players were selected in the 16-man squad, with Diego Castro named captain after receiving the most votes from players across the league.

Fellow Glory players Jason Davidson, Shane Lowry, Chris Ikonomidis, and Neil Kilkenny were also named in the starting line-up, while goalkeeper Liam Reddy was named on the bench.

Sydney had the second most representatives with four players.

Rhyan Grant and Brandon O'Neill were named in the starting line-up, with Milos Ninkovic and Adam Le Fondre on the bench.

Johnny Warren medal winner Roy Krishna was an obvious choice in the side, while his Wellington Phoenix teammate Filip Kurto was named goalkeeper.

Perth Glory coach Tony Popovic was named manager after leading his side to the Premiers Plate with two rounds to spare.

Glory will host Sydney FC in Sunday's grand final at Optus Stadium.

"Of course we are all happy with this award, but we will be happier if we achieve more team success and win the grand final," Castro said.

"That must be our focus for the rest of this week."
