Matildas' Tameka Yallop returns to Roar

Matildas midfielder Tameka Yallop has returned to Brisbane Roar for the upcoming W-League season.

The Roar's all-time leading goalscorer spent the 2018/19 season at Melbourne City.

"I'm stoked to be back at my home club. It's where I've played almost all of my career, all my youth football and back where my family is," Yallop said on Tuesday.

"It's great to be back. We've always been a top club in the ... W-League and I'm sure we'll be back there again this year."

Yallop, who has represented the Matildas at three World Cups and won the 2010 Asian Cup with Australia, previously scored 49 goals for the Roar across 108 appearances.

New coach Jake Goodship welcomed the 28-year-old's return.

"We're excited to have a player of Tameka's calibre back at the club," he said.

"To have one of our foundation players back in Brisbane and representing her home club is a great occasion for the club and our fans.

"No player has scored more goals for Brisbane Roar and we can't wait to see her back on the pitch this season."
