Son Heung-Min has hailed Tottenham's patience, belief and mental strength after the north Londoners' second late victory in the space of three days.
Son broke Newcastle's resistance on Saturday afternoon in the 83rd minute, firing his side to a 1-0 triumph that took them within four points of leaders Liverpool.
Earlier in the week, Spurs trailed Watford in the 80th minute at Wembley but Son and Fernando Llorente struck to secure a 2-1 win.
"I think patience was very important," said Son. "Against such a team [as Newcastle] it's very difficult to score some goals but we have a very good mentality.
"It's difficult when they're staying 10 players deep and trying to defend. It's difficult to find solutions but we've done it with a few games.
"Every single game is a different solution but it's very important to believe we can score in every single moment. This was maybe the most important thing to winning this game.
"You have to believe until the referee's whistle. We did it on Wednesday, we did it on Saturday. I think it shows great character."
Son's strikes have been vital in the absence of the injured Harry Kane and Dele Alli, while Fernando Llorente has now set up two goals and scored another in the last two fixtures.
"I think this is very important," said Son. "Of course Harry and Dele are most important players for us, but injuries are part of football. I don't want someone injured, as a human, but someone has to be ready.
"Fernando's doing very well and everyone is ready because we work hard and believe in every single player. It doesn't matter who plays."
Tottenham are the only top-six side to win both of their Premier League matches in the past week -- a fact that Liverpool will be unable to change when they visit West Ham on Monday, having drawn 1-1 with Leicester on Wednesday. Nonetheless, Son is not getting overexcited about Spurs' title prospects.
"It's good [that other teams have dropped points] but we don't care," he said. "We care just about us. We got six points, we're in a good position. We just believe, work hard and see what's going to happen at the end of the season.
"I try to enjoy every single moment. Still the season is long. There are a lot of games and there are so many things [that happen] in the games."
