West Ham's Michail Antonio out for rest of season with hamstring injury

West Ham forward Michail Antonio will miss the rest of the season with what manager Slaven Bilic has described as a "significant" hamstring injury.

Antonio, 27, has been an important player in an often difficult season for the London club, with Bilic saying he has been "good in every game."

West Ham took a big step towards Premier League safety with a win over Swansea in their last game.

But they will play the rest of their run-in, starting at bottom club Sunderland, without Antonio and Bilic said: "It's a significant injury and he's out for the season.

"It's a big blow with Antonio because he has been good in every game, but we have options up front with Andy Carroll and Jonathan Calleri.

"We're likely going to need both Andy and Jonathan on Saturday and they'll share the minutes on the pitch.

"We know it's going to be extremely hard at Sunderland, but it's a good opportunity for us to get some points and get closer to safety."
