Davenport, Martin lead Memphis over Siena 70-66

MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- Kyvon Davenport and Jeremiah Martin scored 16 points apiece and Memphis held on late to edge Siena 70-66 on Wednesday night.

Davenport added six rebounds and Martin five steals for the Tigers (8-3) who have won five of their last six. Raynere Thornton and Kareem Brewton Jr. each added 13 points.

Memphis trailed 34-26 at the break but Thornton scored six straight points early in the second half and a 17-7 run capped by a David Nickelberry 3-pointer and a Martin 3-point play helped put the Tigers up 55-51 with 8:41 to play.

Siena cut it to a point, 67-66, on a Jordan Horn 3-pointer with 24 seconds left but a pair of free throws by Davenport and another by Thornton kept the Tigers on top.

Horn led the Saints (3-9) off the bench with a career-high 24 points on eight 3-pointers.
