Walker has 23 points, Morehead St. gets by E. Kentucky 70-66

MOREHEAD, Ky. -- Jordan Walker scored seven of his 23 points in the final minutes as Morehead State held off Eastern Kentucky 70-66 on Saturday afternoon for its second straight victory after dropping eight in a row.

Morehead State (8-21, 4-14) finished last, and out of the tournament, in the Ohio Valley Conference standings. Eastern Kentucky (11-20, 5-13) was battling for the eighth and final spot in the tournament, but came up short.

The Eagles took an early lead in the second half and held on to it until a Nick Mayo dunk tied it at 60-60 with 4:55 remaining. Walker responded with a 3-pointer and a layup as Morehead State finished on a 10-6 run to secure the win.

A.J. Hicks added 19 points with eight rebounds and five assists for the Eagles. Lamontray Harris contributed 15 points with 12 rebounds.

Mayo led Eastern Kentucky with 24 points.
