Agee's late FTs help Iona turn aside Albany 72-68 in opener

NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. -- Tajuan Agee scored 10 points, but his pair of free throws with five seconds remaining pushed Iona to a 72-68 win over Albany in the season opener for both teams Friday night.

E.J. Crawford scored 14 points to lead the Gaels, who trailed by as many as 15 in the first half and didn't take the lead for good until Isaiah Still scored on a fastbreak layup with 4:49 left in the game, putting Iona up 60-58.

Rickey McGill scored 12 points with nine assists and Still nine points with eight rebounds for Iona.

Ahmad Clark led the Great Danes with five 3-pointers and 21 points, Devonte Campbell added 17 points and 10 boards and Cameron Healy scored 14 points with four 3-pointers.

Iona scored nearly half its points, 33, off Albany turnovers, and dominated points in the paint, 32-6.
